PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create, prepare and copy weekly and special occasion bulletins, being available to receive information and keeping information neat, correct, concise and arranging proof-reading by the Pastor.
E-mail all documents necessary to the Sound Booth for worship services.
Assign and maintain member and Council mail boxes, inserting appropriate material.
Be available for duties assigned by Council including but not limited to preparing schedules and maintaining Counsil Resource Binders, district lists, visitation record, accountability record.
Pick up, sort and distribute incoming mail. Email bulletin to out of town members/students/shut-ins.
Prepare correspondence and ballots for Counsil, for internal meetings, congregational meetings. and direct to members in a timely manner.
Receive and reply to incoming calls or messages from answering machine, receive appointments as necessary.
Type correspondence for Pastor.
Any additional duties not listed above that may be deemed as appropriate by Board of Directors.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and prepare monthly calendar of events for member mailboxes, being aware of various church activities.
Order and maintain stock of office, postage and bulletin supplies.
Maintain office equipment and passwords, arranging for service as required.
Be available for members requiring minor copying and to groups requiring flyers etc.
Prepare and email pulpit supply documents as necessary.
Prepare the annual Church Directory.
Maintain member files, receive or prepare membership transfers, open new member files.
Inform custodian and sound technician of upcoming weddings and funerals.
Inform custodian of facility rental and handle rental enquiries and bookings.
Any additional duties not listed above that may be deemed as appropriate by the Board of Directors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
2 years secretarial or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge of computer word processing programs, Microsoft Word, is essential. Ability to discern and prioritize duties. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of operation of general office equipment. Maintain a polite and pleasant manner when dealing with others.
Core hours are Tuesday and Thursday. Total 11 hours per week.
